Our commitment
We want everyone in the Upstate to be able to book a junk removal, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, voice control or magnification. This site is built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, which is the standard the U.S. Department of Justice points to for businesses open to the public under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
What we have done
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a “skip to content” link.
- Every form field has a visible label, required fields are marked, and the consent statement is written out rather than hidden in a tooltip.
- Text meets the 4.5:1 contrast ratio on every background, including text over photographs.
- Photographs carry descriptive alternative text; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- The background video and the scrolling review strip can be paused, and both stop automatically if your system asks for reduced motion.
- Menus, the estimate form dialog and the photo viewer announce themselves to assistive technology and can be closed with the Escape key.
Known limits
- The embedded Google map is Google’s own interface. The address is written out beside it and links to Google Maps directly.
- Photographs of jobs are described, but the level of detail is limited to what the picture shows.
